LNG Bunkering & Modification Solution
LNG bunkering and modification solutions support and perform tasks for stable and efficient operation of LNG bunkering.
01
LNG Bunkering & LNG Propulsion Ships
LNG bunkering refers to the technology, business, and related facilities for stable and efficient bunkering of LNG to LNG fuel propulsion ships. As part of efforts to reduce air and marine pollution, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is strengthening regulations on ship fuel emissions, and emission control areas (ECA) for sulfur oxides (SOx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) are gradually expanding. In response, measures such as using low-sulfur oil (MDO, MGO) or installing purification devices (Scrubbers) on existing ships have been proposed, but due to limitations such as high fuel costs or continuous maintenance costs, using LNG as fuel is evaluated as the most effective method.
ISSAC E&C can support and consult on various LNG bunkering projects through cooperative relationships with related equipment manufacturers based on a series of technical experiences related to LNG bunkering (onshore and offshore), LNG propulsion ship modification, and LNG propulsion ship new construction.
02
LNG Fuel Propulsion Modification
LNG fuel conversion is a plan to replace fuel supply systems and power generation systems to replace traditional fossil fuels (coal, diesel, HFO) with high pollutant emissions with environmentally friendly LNG. This has high acceptability in transportation means such as vehicles, ships, and aircraft where fuel costs account for a significant portion of operating costs, or production plants such as power plants and steel mills, and can also respond to various environmental regulations.
In the case of ships, diesel engines using existing HFO/MGO fuel or steam turbines using BOG are replaced with engines capable of using LNG (ME-GI, X-DF, LNG Turbine, etc.), and fuel supply devices (FGSS) and LNG tankers are additionally installed for stable fuel supply to proceed with fuel conversion.
